ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, 27 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ – ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਮਕੀਆਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਐਸਸੀਡੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਇੱਕ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ: “ਇਹ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ, ਸਿਵਲ ਸਮਾਜ, ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੂਕ ਗਵਾਹ ਹਨ । ਕੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਫਰਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਣ ‘ਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਵਰ ਦੇਣ”?

ਐਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਸ਼ਣ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਗਏ ਸਨ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੰਨ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਅੰਤਿਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਇਸ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਫਰਜ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਮੋੜ ‘ਤੇ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਕਿ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹਨ। ਹੋਰ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹਾ ਅੱਤਵਾਦ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰਕੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ I

Universities should give protective cover to Kashmiri students in examination days say SCD Govt College Ludhiana Alumni

The chasing and threatening of Kashmiri students in certain universities of the country by some religious fundamentalist groups is quite disturbing. Kashmir Students are being termed as terrorist.

Alumni of SCD Government College Ludhiana appeal to the universities and colleges to ensure about their safety. An alumnus Prof P K Sharma has said: “it is a distressing picture of the nation’s polity, civil society, administration who are only mute witness to the happenings. Is it not duty of universities to give students protective cover when they are away from their homes ? “

Brij Bhushan Goyal a spokesman of the alumni association said that just as tourists went to Kashmir in good faith treating as part of India, so has Kashmiri students spread over country to study there mostly in the north treating whole of their countries and colleges as their own. Final examination begins this week in Punjab and elsewhere. It is the duty of government to assure students at the critical juncture that they are safe, said Goyal. Fighting terrorism war should not be communalised as such a narrative will be disastrous said other alumni which include Principal Manjit Singh Sandhu, Baldev Singh Garcha and K B Singh.
