Mosque dispute: Himachal bandh today, Hindu organizations to protest, police on high alert

People of Hindu organizations are continuously taking to the streets in Himachal Pradesh over the mosque dispute. This dispute over illegal construction of mosque which started from Sanjauli in Shimla has now reached Mandi, Kullu and Sunni in Shimla.

Hindu organizations across the state are raising their voice against illegal construction of mosques. Vishwa Hindu Parishad has declared Himachal Bandh today. An appeal has been made to keep all shops closed till 1:30 pm. In Kullu district too, the Vyapar Mandal has called for a bandh in Kullu and Bhuntar for half a day. The Municipal Corporation has given a 30-day ultimatum to demolish the illegal mosque in Mandi. Whereas, a demonstration will be held by Hindu organizations in Sunni today. In view of this, the administration has deployed heavy police force so that law and order is not disturbed.
