Patiala – District Level  Nasha Mukt Bharat  Campaign Committee Formed

DC Led Committee To Have Two Retired PCS officers Besides NGO representatives

Patiala, August 16: Reiterating commitment towards Drug Free Nation, Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit has constituted a District Level  Nasha Mukt Bharat  Campaign Committee on the occasion of Independence Day to spread awareness against drugs in Patiala district and to motivate the youth to stay away from drugs.

 Mr. Kumar Amit said that this district level committee would prove to be another firm and unique decision to curb drug menace in the state due to the far sightedness of Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.  Being District Magistrate,  Mr. Kumar Amit would be the Chairman of this District Campaign Committee.

 In this committee, SSP  Patiala,    Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Patiala ,   Vice Chancellor Punjabi University, District Program Officer, District Education Officer (Secondary), Deputy Medical Commissioner, District Social Justice, Empowerment & Minority Officer along with two retired PCS officers Pritam Singh Johal and Zora Singh Thind have also been included.

 Apart from this Parminder Bhalwan, President, Youth Federation of India and Paramjit Singh, President, Youth Club Badshahpur and Parminder Kaur Manchanda, Project Coordinator, Saket Hospital have also been included in the committee.  District Social Security Officer  Mr. Virinder Singh Tiwana will be the Member Secretary of this  Committee.

 As per the District Action Plan prepared by the Deputy Commissioner, this committee in collaboration with the Police Department, Health Department, Rural Development & Panchayat Department, Education Department, Justice  and Legal Affairs, Social Security and Women and Child Development Department etc. would make a significant contribution in the anti-drug campaign  by playing its vital role in prevention.

 Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mrs. Pooja Sayal Grewal, Assistant Commissioner  (G) Dr.  Ismat Vijay Singh and District Social Security Officer Virinder Singh Tiwana were also present at the time of formation of Committee.
