Ex-principal sandip Ghosh policeman arresed for destruction of evidence

CBI Saturday arrested Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, in connection with the rape and murder of a junior. doctor The probe agency also arrested Tala Police Station SHO Abhijit Mondal in the case. Both Ghosh and Mondol will be produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) court in Sealdah on Sunday.

According to the CBI, the duo was involved in tampering with the crime scene, tampering with evidence, violating official rules, hatching criminal conspiracy and misleading the investigators.

A junior woman doctor was found raped and murdered at the hospital August 9, sparking widespread protests across West Bengal and the nation. Ghosh was at the helm when the incident took place at R G Kar Hospital. He has been accused of trying to hush up the incident.
