The attackers who threw hand grenades in Sector 10 of Chandigarh were preparing to flee to Jammu and Kashmir. After obtaining a 6-day remand, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) has started interrogation of the arrested attacker. The attacker has given many important information to the police.

The second assailant is Vishal, a resident of Dera Baba Nanak. A raid is being conducted to nab him. According to the information received from the SSOC sources, the attacker Rohan Masih said that he was offered 5 lakh rupees from abroad but so far he has received only about 20 thousand rupees. After carrying out the incident, he wanted to go to Jammu and Kashmir, so that he could escape from Chandigarh, Punjab and central security agencies. Rohan told during interrogation that after the Chandigarh bomb blast, both of them had come to Amritsar but he did not do anything. Had to go to Khanna. He had returned to Amritsar, as from here he and Vishal were to go to Jammu and Kashmir. He was hiding in a hotel near the bus stand. He was arrested as soon as he left the hotel.

Rohan said that Happy Pashiya is a resident of his village and he had asked to help him financially. The deal was fixed with him for 5 lakh rupees and so far he had received only about 20 thousand rupees. Rohan said that he is a carpenter, who used to work with his brother Joban in Jammu and Kashmir. In Jammu and Kashmir, he used to get twice the daily wage than in Punjab.

According to FIR No. 55, the pistol recovered from him by SSOC came from Pakistan via drone. SSOC has already arrested Akashdeep Singh and Amarjit Singh of Gharinda in this FIR. Akash and Amarjit are already in touch with Pakistani smugglers. Police believe that this hand-grenade also came from Pakistan and is used by the Pakistani army.
