DISTRICT MAGISTRATE WARNS OFFICIALS WHO ARE IGNORING RATION DISTRIBUTION DUTY
STRICT ACTION UNDER DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT 2005 WOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST SUCH OFFICIALS: DISTRICT MAGISTRATE

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal have clarified that if any official ignores or fails to perform his/her duty of ration distribution during the ongoing lockdown/curfew, then strict action under the Disaster Management Act 2005 and section 188 of IPC would be taken against such employee.
While issuing orders in this regard, Mr Agrawal stated that it has come to his notice that some officials (especially in Police Commissionerate Ludhiana area) are either not reporting for their duty in offices or become absent after reaching their offices. He said that as the work of ration distribution in Ludhiana city is being done as per Police Station level, and all SHOs have been directed to register FIRs against such officials and inform the office of District Magistrate Ludhiana.
Mr Agrawal has directed the Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, SSPs of Khanna and Ludhiana (Rural), all Additional Deputy Commissioners, SDMs, Tehsildar’s, Sub-Registrars, Naib Tehsildars and other officials to strict compliance of these orders.
