Samson’s stormy innings takes India to final, defeats England by 7 runs

India defeated England by 7 runs in the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2026 played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to make it to the final. After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, India scored 253 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs against England, thanks to Sanju Samson’s brilliant innings of 89 runs. In reply, the England team could only score 246 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, although Jacob Bethell played a good innings of 105 runs. Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets for India, while Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel took one wicket each. Now India will play the final match against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8 and will enter the field with the intention of winning the title for the second consecutive time.
