ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES WOULD BE TAKEN INTO CONFIDENCE WHILE IMPLEMENTING WELFARE SCHEMES: DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

Ludhiana, June 20: Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu reviewed the development issues with the Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma and MC Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal during a meeting held at Circuit House, here today.
This meeting was also attended by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh, Senior Congress leader Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, besides several others.
During the meeting, Mr Ashu said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed for the overall and planned development of the state. He said that several projects worth crores have been started in the district. He informed that Ludhiana is the backbone of Punjab’s economy and he is personally monitoring all the development projects on daily basis.
He asked both the officials that all the elected representatives should be taken into confidence while implementing welfare schemes of the government, as well as in development projects. The development projects related to Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and Ludhiana Smart City Ltd were also discussed.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and the MLAs discussed on detail the strategy for carrying out overall development of the district. He said that all welfare schemes of the Punjab government would be implemented in the district on priority basis and all eligible beneficiaries would be covered under these schemes. MC Commissioner also assured that all the development projects would be carried out in a transparent manner.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLAs Mr Rakesh Pandey, Mr Amrik Singh Dhillon, Mr Surinder Dawar, Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Mr Kuldip Singh Vaid, Mr Lakhbir Singh Lakha, Mr Sanjay Talwar, District Planning Board Chairman Mr Malkit Singh Dakha, Senior Congress leaders Mr Kamaljit Singh Karwal, Mr Kamil Boparai, Mrs Satwinder Kaur Bitti, besides several others.
