Ludhiana, May 29 – CII Ludhiana organized an support CSR activity for vulnerable poor women on World’s Menstruation Day (Thursday) with the support of Industry members in this pandemic crises.  Mr Amit Juneja, Chairman – CII Ludhiana Zonal Council said “Menstrual hygiene continues to be amongst the most challenging development issues in India. Illiteracy, poverty and lack of awareness restricts women to access the hygienic sanitary products in turn leading to severe health issues. Even in normal times, menstrual hygiene is never a priority in poor households and this pandemic crisis has pushed menstrual hygiene practices further deep in trouble. For the low income households, the sanitary pads are the last priority when the incomes are lost or have dwindled making women more vulnerable. Committed to the cause of supporting the struggling sections of society in this crisis, CII Ludhiana is ensuring that this most essential requirement reaches as many as women possible and bring the taboo topic of menstrual hygiene out of dark into the spotlight.”

To support the cause CII Ludhiana distributed more than 5000 sanitary napkins to around 350 women in the presence of Ms Geetanjali Seth, Director – Versatile Enterprises Group, Mr Amit Gupta, MD – Concorde Knitwears P Ltd, Mr Nitin Tayal, Director – GATS India Ltd, Dr Sahil Bansal, MD – Bansal Laboratories, Ms Shivani Sachdeva, Managing Director – Fancy Copy Manufacturers & Stationary.
