Former SEBI chief Madhavi Buch gets relief from Bombay High Court, order to register FIR stays

Former SEBI chief Madhavi Puri Buch has got a big relief from the Bombay High Court. The Bombay High Court has stayed the order of a special court registering an FIR against former SEBI chairperson Madhavi Puri Buch and others in a stock market fraud case.
The ACB court in Mumbai had ordered the registration of an FIR against former SEBI chief Madhavi Puri Buch and five others for alleged stock market fraud and regulatory violations. Buch and others had approached the High Court challenging the order. The hearing of the matter was held today, i.e. Tuesday.
On March 3, Madhavi Puri Buch, all-time members Ashwini Bhatia, Ananth Narayan, Kamlesh Chandra Varshney, BSE CEO Sundararaman Ramamurthy and former chairman Pramod Agarwal had moved the High Court challenging the ACB court’s order to register an FIR against them. Meanwhile, the court had said that the FIR should not be registered till the hearing of the case. The hearing of the case took place on Tuesday. The Bombay High Court has stayed the special court’s order to register an FIR.
