CBI’s major operation in Bitcoin scam, raids at more than 60 places across the country

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted raids at more than 60 locations across the country in connection with the Bitcoin scam. These raids were conducted in several states including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Pune, Kolhapur. The aim of this operation is to catch those who are cheating people in the name of Bitcoin.
The CBI found that some people were cheating people by promising high returns on investment in Bitcoin. They were promoting their schemes through social media groups. In these schemes, money was taken from investors and converted into cryptocurrency, so that the source of the money could be hidden. The investigation has revealed that transactions worth over Rs 350 crore have taken place through these schemes.
Earlier, the CBI had conducted raids at more than 10 locations in seven states including Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. During this, Rs 34.2 lakh in cash, US$ 38,414 in cryptocurrency, seven mobile phones, a laptop, three hard disks, 10 pen drives and other digital evidence were recovered.
