Prime Minister ji should intervene in this matter’, Delhi Minister Gopal Roy appealed to PM Modi

Navi Delhi,19 Nov 2024

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in this matter in view of the increasing pollution. Rai alleged that despite writing repeated letters, the central government is not showing any activity on the issue of pollution. He said that during the kind of medical emergency that Delhi is going through, artificial rain or strong wind is needed to break the smog. Roy said that despite continuous letters and appeals, the Center has not even had time to call a meeting.

‘Constantly wrote letters but got no reply’

Gopal Roy said, ‘There is air pollution in the whole of North India for the last 3 days. People are finding it difficult to breathe. To curb vehicular pollution, we have imposed restrictions on both private and commercial vehicles. Last year the time was less but this time we had prepared artificial rain in August itself if needed. I wrote first letter on 30th August, second letter on 10th October and third letter on 23rd October for approval and meeting but no response. An online meeting with the Union Agriculture and Environment Minister was held in October after a long request.
