ਸਿੱਖ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ – ਸ਼ੇਰ-ਇ-ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਫਰਜ਼ੰਦ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਦਲੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸਵਾਸ
ਸ੍ਰ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਫਾਰਵਰਡ ਕੀਤੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਸਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ
🙏🏼ਅੱਜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਦੁਲੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ੧੨੯ਵੀਂ(129th) ਬਰਸੀ ਮੌਕੇ ;
*ਬਰਸੋਂ ਰਹਾ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਰ ਪਰ ਛਤਰ-ਇ-ਜ਼ੱਰੀ
ਤੁਰਬਤ ਪੇ ਨਾ ਉਨ ਕੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਆਨਾ ਦੇਖਾ* !
ਅਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ 22 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1893 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੇਰ-ਇ-ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਫਰਜ਼ੰਦ,ਮਹਾਰਾਣੀ ਜਿੰਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਖ਼ਤ-ਇ- ਜਿਗਰ, ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਦਲੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਦੇ ਗਰੈਂਡ ਹੋਟਲ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ|
ਈਸਟ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟੇਨ ਦੀ ਮਲਕਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਹੇ ਗਏ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਟਲ ਲਾ ਟ੍ਰਾਮੋਇਲੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਫਾਨੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਿਵਦਾ ਕਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੱਡ ਗਿਆ..ਬੇਇਨਸਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਲੰਬੀ ਦਾਸਤਾਨ..!!!
ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਪਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੀ : *ਉਸਨੇ (ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ) ਉਸਨੂੰ (ਮਹਾਰਾਣੀ) ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ (ਮਹਾਰਾਣੀ)ਉਸਦੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਪਾਂਜਲੀ*(Wreath).
ਅਫਸੋਸ..ਅੱਜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ 129ਵੀਂ ਬਰਸੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋਵੇ…ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ…ਇਹ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਮਲਕਾ ਵਿਕਟੋਰੀਆ ਨੇ ਸੰਨ 1854 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ…!!!
In 1854 Queen Victoria, had in a letter to Lord Dalhousie, written of him: “Nothing is more painful for any one than the thought that their children and grandchildren have no future, and may become absolute beggars. How much more dreadful must this be to a proud people, who are the sons and grand-sons of Great Princes”
39 years later her words would ring true. He had no future, did die a beggar and it was indeed dreadful.
So, Once destined to be the ruler of a vast Empire, his undignified death marked the end of a struggle to regain his throne and return to his homeland.
Some years ago a UK newspaper wrote of Queen Victoria ” He gave her a kingdom, She sent him a wreath” 🌺🌼🌹🌼🌺🙏🏼
ਇਸ ਪੋਸਟ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾਂ : ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਦੀ ਸਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਬੰਬਾ ਸਦਰਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤਸਵੀਰ, ਪੈਰਿਸ ਦੇ ਜਿਸ ਹੋਟਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਦਲੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਸਵਾਸ ਲਏ!

Paris 22nd October 1893
On this day in 1893 in a shabby room in the Hôtel de La Trémoille in the 8th arrondissement of Paris the last Maharaja of the Sikhs breathed his last.
His death, alone, and destitute contrasted sharply with the rejoicing, pageantry and royal celebrations which heralded his birth 55 years earlier. So ended the tragic life of Duleep Singh and with it the lineage of the Lion of the Punjab.
The British Government made hasty arrangements to bring his corpse back to England lest it were to to return to Punjab and incite Sikh sentiments. Ironically it was his Sikh identity which the Crown feared at this death as it did during his life.
His funeral at Elveden was attended by a representative of the Queen Empress Victoria. As one publication reported “He gave her his kingdom, she gave him a wreath”
