JCI Alumni Club Ludhiana Region, Zone 1, celebrated JAC’s Anniversary under the ‘Namaste India’ initiative by organising a special service programme for railway porters at Ludhiana Railway Station.
The programme was aimed at recognising and appreciating the valuable contribution of railway porters, who assist passengers and play an important role in the smooth functioning of the railway station. The club members interacted with the porters and shared thoughts on ethics, welcoming passengers, courteous behaviour and good conduct.
As part of the initiative, the participating porters were honoured with wrist watches, while snacks and drinks were also distributed among them. The gesture was intended to convey respect and gratitude for their daily efforts and service to the public.
Sharing information about the initiative, JC Dr Jasbir Singh Bawa said that the ‘Namaste India’ programme was conceived as a meaningful way of celebrating JAC’s Anniversary by connecting with people who contribute to society through their everyday work. He said that such initiatives help promote the values of respect, dignity, service and social responsibility.
The programme was attended by JC JP Aggarwal, JC Amit Goyal, JC Dr Jasbir Singh Bawa, JC Vikas Aggarwal, JC Vaneet Bansal and JC Dr Gurpreet Singh Dua, along with other members and railway porters.
The initiative carried the message of “People Make India Great”, with the JCI Alumni Club reiterating its commitment to community service and meaningful social engagement.
