The Indian women’s cricket team has secured its place in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup by defeating Bangladesh by 40 runs in a brilliant performance. In the first semi-final played in Dubai, India batted first and scored 149 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shafali Verma played a brilliant innings of 64 runs in 40 balls, while Richa Ghosh contributed 21 and captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 24 runs not out. Chasing a target of 150 runs, the Bangladesh team appeared under pressure from the Indian bowlers and could only score 109 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Deepti Sharma bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs, while Nandini Sharma ended Bangladesh’s innings by taking 2 wickets in the last over. With this victory, India has reached the final of the Asia Cup for the 10th time. India has won all four of its finals in the ODI format, while in the T20 format, the team has been the champion in 2012, 2016 and 2022. Now, India will have its eyes on another Asia Cup title in the final to be held in Dubai on September 13 at 8 pm. In the title match, India will face the winner of the other semi-final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
