The ICC has awarded the hosting rights to India for the first Women’s Champions Trophy 2027. Six teams will participate in this historic tournament in the T20 format and the matches will be held in Mumbai and Vadodara from 14 to 28 February 2027. Earlier, Sri Lanka was the host of this tournament, but after the ICC withdrew the hosting rights over the issue of government interference in the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, India, Bangladesh and South Africa submitted their claims. The ICC approved India’s bid based on the set criteria. Apart from India, teams from Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka will play in the tournament. All the teams will compete against each other in a round-robin league, after which the top two teams will face each other in the final on 28 February.
