Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has retired from T20 Internationals. The left-arm fast bowler has decided to bid farewell to the shortest format of cricket after playing 65 T20 International matches for Australia. Mitchell Starc made his debut on the T20 International pitch in 2012. His T20 International career lasted 13 years. He played his last T20 International match against India in June 2024. The news of Mitchell Starc’s retirement from T20 Internationals came at the same time as Australia announced the squad for the T20 series against New Zealand.
He has said goodbye to T20 internationals a few months before the 2026 T20 World Cup. Mitchell Starc, who will turn 36 in January next year, has taken this decision to extend his career in Test and ODI cricket. He has taken this step especially keeping in mind the India tour, the Ashes and the ODI World Cup to be held in South Africa in 2027.
