The Indian cricket team has suffered a setback ahead of the third T20 International against New Zealand. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan will not be able to play in this match due to injury. He had strained a muscle in his right hand during the first match of the five-match series. According to the BCCI, his health is improving, but he is not yet fully fit to play the match. The board’s medical team is monitoring his health.
Ishan Kishan did not play in the second T20 match either. In his absence, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was given a chance in the playing XI. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra has been kept as a backup in the team and he will be with the team for the third match as well. It is worth mentioning that the Indian team is leading the five-match T20 series 2-0 after winning the first two matches.
