He will now not be able to participate in the Asian Games to be held in Japan due to a ligament tear in his ankle during training.
Neeraj himself shared this information on social media that he was feeling good after throwing a season-best throw of 88.05 meters in the Lausanne Diamond League. But some time after this, an injury sustained during training put a brake on his preparations for the upcoming competitions. After consulting the medical team, Neeraj has decided to take complete rest for the rest of the season and focus on recovery. This year has been a mixed one for Neeraj, where he performed well in many competitions, but now due to injury he will have to stay away from the field.
