There is relief news for Punjabi youth working in Canada. Those whose work permit is about to expire and whose employer has already filed an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) application, will now get additional time to complete the process of extending their work permit. The Canadian Immigration Department has extended this period from 60 days to 90 days. This change is especially important for those Punjabi youth who are working on a temporary work permit after completing their studies and are planning to continue their current employment and obtain permanent residency in the future. However, this 90-day facility does not automatically grant a new work permit. It is important to file the LMIA application on time and a last-minute application, just because the work permit is about to expire, does not guarantee this facility in every case.
