4 workers die of suffocation in Mumbai, accident occurred while cleaning underground water tank

Four labourers died of suffocation while cleaning a water tank of an under-construction building near Good Luck Motor Training School on Mint Road in Nagpara, Mumbai on Sunday. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the incident took place this afternoon when some workers were cleaning a water tank at Bismilla Space Building in Nagpara. Municipal Corporation officials said that on receiving information about the incident, they immediately reached the spot and rescued the labourers from the water tank. A BMC official said, “The incident took place at Bismilla Space Building, which is located near Good Luck Motor Training School on Dimtimkar Road in Nagpara area.” The labourers were taken to JJ Hospital for treatment by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), where doctors declared four of them brought dead. Giving information about the incident, Mumbai Police said, ‘This morning, 4 labourers were found dead due to suffocation while entering an underground water tank for some work in an under-construction building called Bismilla Space on Dimtimkar Road, near Mastan Talab under JJ Marg police station.’ The fifth person is fine, he has been admitted to JJ Hospital. Further investigation is underway.
