Women from self-help groups will prepare 20,000 uniforms for government schools

After the immense success of the first year, the second phase of the ‘Pahal’ project has begun in Moga district. Under this project, the work of preparing uniforms for students of 145 schools has been entrusted to self-help groups.
In this regard, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Mr. Jagwinderjit Singh Grewal, PCS visited the center built under the Pahal Project at Cluster Level Federation Indergarh and inaugurated the second phase of the Pahal Project in District Moga.
He informed that as per the orders of the Punjab Government, the Pahal Project was implemented in Moga district in 2024. Under which, a Pahal Center was established at village Indergarh of block Kot Ise Khan and an order for about 10000 uniforms of primary and pre-primary schools of Dharamkot 1 and Dharamkot 2 was prepared and distributed to the students of the schools. Due to which about 150 women of self-help groups got employment and got a benefit of Rs. 100 per uniform.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that this time the Punjab government has given a target of 20,000 school uniforms to Moga district. In this regard, the order of 145 schools has been received from the Education Department. Under this order, women of about 35 groups out of the self-help groups formed in Block Ise Khan will get employment sitting at home. The women of the self-help group will soon complete this order and deliver the uniforms on time. They also appealed to the women to join the self-help groups.
