The Devasthanam Board has said that this decision is in line with its commitment to maintain the spiritual sanctity of temples and religious activities. The Board believes that the participation of followers of Hindu religion in the religious and spiritual activities of the temple is essential.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued disciplinary action orders against 18 employees. These employees are accused of participating in non-Hindu religious activities along with TTD festivals and rituals. The TTD board recently passed a resolution giving such employees two options – transfer to government departments, exit through voluntary retirement scheme.
