Setback for NDA in Manipur, JDU will not support BJP, only MLAs will remain in opposition

Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United has formally withdrawn support from the N Biren Singh-led BJP government in Manipur. The JDU says its sole MLA in the state, Mohammed Abdul Nasir, will now remain in the opposition. The JDU has written a letter to the Governor announcing its withdrawal of support from the government.

This decision taken by JDU will not have any impact on the stability of the BJP-led government in Manipur. However, this decision is being considered to have a very deep political significance. Because JDU is one of the major allies of BJP at the Centre and in Bihar.

JDU’s Manipur unit chief Khetrimayum Biren Singh has written a letter to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla announcing the withdrawal of support from the BJP.
