2 smugglers arrested with 8 foreign guns smuggled from Pakistan in Amritsar; Punjab Police

Punjab Police has arrested two persons after they found eight modern pistols smuggled into the country from Pakistan, a top official said on Saturday. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said they were arrested from Amritsar’s Nurpur area.

In a post on X, Yadav said, “Dealing a major blow to the illegal arms smuggling network, Counter Intelligence, Amritsar arrested 2 persons from Nurpur Shree, near Gharinda, Amritsar when they smuggled them from Pakistan. They were waiting for another operative to hand over the consignment of weapons.” 

Police said they have recovered eight modern weapons – four Glock pistols (made in Austria), two Turkiye 9mm pistols and two X-Shot Zigana pistols, along with 10 rounds.
