Railway Budget For Punjab: In the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Rs 5,147 crore has been earmarked for railways in Punjab. In this regard, Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav gave. Meanwhile, Union Minister of State Ravneet Bittu was also present.

Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav said that 30 stations are to be developed as Amrit railway stations. Apart from this, work is also underway on 12 projects to build 1,158 km of new track, which is to be completed at a cost of Rs 19,843 crore.

He also informed that the 30 stations included in Amrit stations are Abohar, Amritsar, Anandpur Sahib, Beas, Bathinda Junction, Dhandri Kalan, Dhuri, Fazilka, Ferozepur Cantt, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar Cantt Junction, Jalandhar City, Kapurthala, Kotakpura Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Malerkotla, Mansa, Moga, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Nangal Dam, Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, Patiala, Phagwara Junction, Phillaur Junction, Rupnagar, Sangrur, Mohali and Sirhind stations are included.

He said that 35 new tracks have been constructed from 2014 to 2024. Similarly, the work of electrification of 163 km track has been completed, due to which now 100 percent electrification work has been completed in Punjab. Also, 366 railway flyovers and under bridges have been constructed since 2014.
