Ludhiana, March 30: ( News Punjab )

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today informed that in view of the lockdown in district Ludhiana, the District Administration today ordered the closure of main Sabzi Mandi situated in Jalandhar Byepass area of the city. This decision has been taken to restrict the huge rush of people in that area.

Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal informed that following the death of a Ludhiana based woman at Patiala, the Amarpura Mohalla in the city have been completely sealed. The deceased lady was a resident of Amarpura Mohalla.

He informed that teams of health department are carrying out a detailed survey of all residents of Amarpura Mohalla and the suspected patients are being identified. He further ordered that several NGOs/Social/Religious/Industrial organisations serving food/langar in the district. He ordered that only those organisations would be allowed to serve food that have food packets for a minimum of 1000 persons. The smaller organisations can form a cluster amongst themselves and minimum food packets for 1000 persons would be allowed to be served by them.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the residents that food would be provided to them at all cost by the District Administration regularly. He ordered the residents should stay indoors till the lockdown is imposed in the district in interest of everyone else. He also urged them to cooperate with the District Administration, that is working 24X7 for the welfare of residents.
