If you are planning to travel by flight in the coming days, then your pocket may be burdened with extra burden. From October 6, the country’s largest airline IndiGo has announced to increase fuel surcharge on domestic and international flights. For domestic flights, an additional charge of Rs 100 to Rs 350 will be charged depending on the distance, which may increase the total price of the newly booked ticket. ATF accounts for a large part of the cost of airlines and due to the ongoing crisis in West Asia, there is a fluctuation in the prices of crude oil and jet fuel. Apart from this, due to airspace restrictions on some air routes, planes are having to take longer routes, which is increasing fuel and operational costs. Seeing this situation, the central government is also talking to airlines and oil companies. If ATF prices remain high, then there is a possibility of further pressure on airfares in the coming time.
