Harmanpreet Kaur steps down as captain of Indian women’s team

World Cup-winning captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur, has announced her resignation as the captain of the team in all three formats. Sharing an emotional message, the 37-year-old Harmanpreet said that the decision was not easy for her, but now she wants to continue her journey as a player. She said that as captain, she gave her blood, sweat and time for the team and Indian women’s cricket. Despite the criticism and difficult decisions she faced during her captaincy, her aim was always to take the team forward. Harmanpreet said that she will always be grateful for the honour of leading Indian women’s cricket.
