The Indian men’s hockey team put up a brilliant performance at the Asian Games 2026, defeating South Korea by a huge margin of 8-2. This was the third consecutive win for defending champions India in Pool A. The Indian players dominated most of the match and attacked the Korean team continuously from the start. Shilanand Lakra, Sukhjit Singh and captain Harmanpreet Singh gave India a strong lead in the opening minutes, while Abhishek also played a key role in the team’s victory by scoring two goals. Dilpreet Singh also scored two goals to take his total number of goals in the tournament to 9. Korea tried to come back in the second half and scored two goals, but the Indian defense and goalkeeper Mohit thwarted many of their attacks. In the dying moments of the match, Rajinder Singh scored India’s eighth goal with a brilliant flick and sealed the team’s 8-2 victory. With this impressive victory, India has taken another important step towards making a place in the semi-finals. Now the Indian team’s next match will be against Japan on September 28.
