The Chandigarh administration has tightened the noose on app-based cab and bike taxi services. The state transport authority has suspended the aggregator license of Indsystem IT Private Limited, which runs the InDrive service, for six months from August 10, 2026.
According to the orders, the company will no longer be able to operate cab or bike taxi services in Chandigarh and drivers have also been barred from accepting bookings through the InDrive app. Violation of the rules may lead to challaning or seizure of vehicles. The administration has appealed to people to use alternative apps registered with the state transport authority instead of InDrive. Earlier in June, Ola’s aggregator license was also suspended for six months.
