Indian boxer Preeti Pawar won the gold medal in the 54 kg category final of the Commonwealth Games by defeating Canada’s Scarlett Delgado. Preeti performed brilliantly throughout the competition and dominated all three rounds. With this victory, India got its sixth gold medal in the Games. Preeti, from Haryana, started boxing at the age of 14 and today she is serving as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army. After winning gold medals in Khelo India, Asian Championships and World Boxing Cup, she has now created history in the Commonwealth Games as well.
