The Delhi High Court has dismissed the company’s plea, upholding the temporary ban imposed on Telegram in the wake of the paper leak controversy related to the re-examination of NEET-UG 2026. The court upheld the order issued by the central government under Section 69A of the IT Act, according to which the access of Telegram will be restricted till June 22. The government has alleged that the platform was facilitating paper leaks, dissemination of fake question papers and fraudulent activities. The decision will affect more than 150 million Indian users, while the NEET paper leak case has raised serious questions about the credibility of lakhs of students across the country and the NTA.
