An Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft crashed while landing at Jorhat airbase in Assam, killing 5 airmen and seriously injuring the co-pilot. The aircraft broke into two parts after hitting the ground and burst into flames. The martyrs include Agniveer Vayu Danish Alam, Agniveer Vayu Khemaram Kumawat, Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar and Sergeant Jitendra Sharma. The Indian Air Force has ordered an inquiry into the accident and has started an investigation to find out the exact cause.
