India’s 19-year-old high jumper Pooja Singh has won a gold medal in the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championship after a brilliant performance. Pooja broke the 14-year-old national record by jumping 1.93 meters, which was previously held by Sahana Kumari at 1.92 meters. With this performance, Pooja not only created her personal best, but also qualified for the Commonwealth Games. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also praised Pooja for this achievement and wished her a bright future. India has performed brilliantly in the championship so far by winning four gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
