US Senator Lindsey Graham, considered close to Donald Trump, has threatened to impose 100% tariffs on India, China and Brazil. He said that if these three countries continue to buy cheap oil from Russia, then America will impose 100% tariffs on them. He also said that America will destroy the economies of these three countries. Lindsey Graham is a senior senator of Trump’s Republican Party. He is considered a supporter of US foreign policy and a strong opponent of Russia and China.
In a TV interview, he said, “I will tell China, India and Brazil that if you continue to buy cheap Russian oil to continue this war, we will destroy you and destroy your economy because what you are doing is blood money. You are buying cheap Russian oil at the world’s price and President Trump is tired of this game. If I were President Putin, I would come to the negotiating table soon.” This is not the first time that the US has threatened to impose tariffs on India. US President Donald Trump himself has threatened to impose tariffs on India on several occasions before this. He had also threatened to impose 100 percent tariffs (import duties) on BRICS countries trying to find an alternative to the dollar. BRICS also includes China and India, the world’s two largest emerging economies.
