Two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra finally won his first major title of the season after a late-night contest. He beat Julian Weber and two-time world champion Anderson Peters of Granada to win the title at the Paris Diamond League. It is worth noting that there were a total of eight contenders in the javelin throw event, five of whom touched the 90-metre mark.

Two-time Olympic medallist and Indian javelin throw star Neeraj Chopra on Friday won his first Diamond League title in two years by defeating Germany’s Julian Weber in the Paris Diamond League. Before this, he had finished second in the Paris Diamond League twice in a row. Neeraj Chopra made a brilliant throw in his first attempt and won the title by throwing the javelin a distance of 88.16 metres. In his second attempt, he threw 85.10 metres. After this, the next three throws were fouls. In the last attempt, Neeraj covered a distance of 82.89 metres. This is Chopra’s first win in the Paris Diamond League. He had participated here as the junior world champion in 2017 and then finished fifth.
