Delhi Police registers case against CM Atishi for ‘violation’ of MCC

Dehli,4 feb 2025

Delhi Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Chief Minister Atishi, for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and obstructing government employees on duty.

“We have registered an FIR against Kalkaji AAP candidate at Govindpuri police station under various sections and further investigation is underway,” the police officer said.

He further said that the action was taken because AAP candidate Fateh Singh was found on the road with 50-70 supporters and 10 vehicles. The police directed them to vacate the area as per MCC guidelines. But they prevented an officer from doing his duty, he said.

In a post on X, Atishi targeted the Election Commission, alleging that BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and his family members were openly resorting to “hooliganism” but no action was taken, even though a case was registered against them.
