Taking strict action against cab aggregator companies, the Chandigarh Administration has suspended the aggregator licenses of Uber and Rapido for six months. According to the administration, both the companies were not following the rules of the Chandigarh Aggregator Policy, 2025. Despite issuing several notices, the STA decided to suspend the licenses with immediate effect after the required documents and satisfactory response were not received. This action has been taken after the cab and taxi drivers have been protesting for about 100 days and going on a hunger strike for 15 days. This decision on Uber and Rapido after the action against Ola is likely to have a major impact on the cab services of Chandigarh.
