According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), these include Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, national holidays and state-level festivals. Banks will remain closed across the country on August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 due to Sundays, while August 8 and 22 will be holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays. Apart from this, bank branches in many states will remain closed on August 15 due to Independence Day, August 25 and 26 due to Eid-e-Milad, Onam and other regional festivals. On some dates, banks will also remain closed due to local festivals in Tripura, Manipur, Kerala, Sikkim, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and other states. So if you have to visit a branch to deposit a cheque, get a draft, avail locker service or for any other banking work, then do check the holiday list first, so that any kind of inconvenience can be avoided. However, despite the closure of bank branches, digital services like UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, ATM, debit and credit cards, online fund transfer and bill payments will continue as usual, due to which customers will not face any kind of disruption in online transactions.
