Important news for those planning to get a passport for foreign travel, study or employment. Indian passport fees are going to increase from July 1, 2026. According to the new fee structure, the fee for a regular passport with 36 pages will increase from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, while for Tatkal service, the fee has been increased from ₹3,500 to ₹5,000. These new rates will be applicable to new passports as well as re-issue applications. With this decision, people getting their passports made or renewed will have to spend more than before, so it will be important to keep the new fees in mind before applying.
