DJs and horns banned from 10 pm to 6 am in Jalandhar

Taking a major decision to curb noise pollution, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur has issued new orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code 2023. According to the orders, the use of horns, DJs, loudspeakers, drums and other sound-producing devices will be banned in silence zones and residential areas from 10 pm to 6 am. Playing loud sound systems in marriage palaces, hotels and vehicles has also been banned. The police have warned that the sound systems and other devices of those violating the orders will be confiscated. These orders will be in force till July 8, 2026.
