NEET UG 2026 exam cancelled, paper leak case probe handed over to CBI

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to cancel the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3 after getting the approval of the Government of India. Considering the seriousness of the allegations of paper leak, the investigation of the matter has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The government has said that the new date for the re-examination will be announced soon and students will not have to pay any new registration or additional fee. The fee deposited earlier will also be refunded. The NTA said that it is fully cooperating with the investigating agencies and all necessary information is being shared.
