Sensex falls 600 points at opening due to Trump’s 50% tariff

The Indian stock market opened lower in early trade today. The BSE Sensex fell 659.59 points (0.82%) to 80,126.95 in early trade at 9:25 am. At the same time, the NSE Nifty is also trading 187.65 points (0.76%) lower at 24,524.40. Banking and IT stocks are under pressure in the initial decline.

In the pre-opening session on Thursday morning, the BSE Sensex was trading marginally down 31 points at 80,754 and the NSE Nifty at 24,695. The market opened on a weak note as the US imposed an additional 25% tax on Indian exports. Now the total US tax has reached 50%, which has increased the concerns of traders.

Hero MotoCorp was among the top gainers in the Nifty with a gain of 1.68 percent. After this, Asian Paints, Cipla, Tata Consumer and Titan Company were also among the top gainers. On the other hand, among the top losers, Shriram Finance was at the top with a decline of 2.85 percent. Apart from this, pressure was also seen on ICICI Bank, HCL Tech, Jio Financial, NTPC and Hindalco Industries.
