Industry Promises “Return Gift” to MP Arora

During an interaction with industrialists on Thursday evening, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora was assured a “return gift” of victory in the upcoming Ludhiana (West) assembly elections, in recognition of his significant contributions to the industry.

The organisers made an appeal to all the industrialists present there to support and vote for Arora who has been fielded as the AAP candidate in coming byelection to Ludhiana (West) seat. The event was organised by G-13 Bicycle Forum- an association of small and medium scale bicycles manufacturers. Many industrialists endorsed each other that Arora is always available to get their work done.

Further endorsing, Harsimerjit Singh Lucky who is also president of UCPMA- Asia’s largest association in single trade promoting bicycle & bicycle parts all over the world, said he is in touch with Arora for the last about one year. He said Arora being an MP has done remarkable work not only for Ludhiana but for whole of the state. He along with other industrialists said Arora has set an example for other politicians. He said this is why Arora is known for his sincerity and dedication towards working for the industry and other sections of the society.

On the occasion, Arora patiently heard demands, problems and grievances of the industry. He said Punjab industry is progressing which is indicated from the fact that when old demands are met then some new demands are put in. He asked the industry to give in writing about their demand of setting up of a governing council in R&D Centre for Bi-cycle & Sewing.

Regarding another demand of setting up of an exhibition centre in or around Ludhiana, Arora asked the industrial associations to give him a demand letter in this regard so that he may take up the matter with the state government. He assured to provide land for the same. Regarding some sewerage issues, he said he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities to resolve it within a day or so.

Arora was apprised that exporters are not getting freight subsidy for the FY 2023-24 from the state government. On this, Arora asked the industry to provide him complete details so that he may get the matter resolved at the earliest.

In his address, Arora highlighted in detail about the works he did in the last three years as an MP and stated that Punjab is forwarding. He said the state government under the leadership of Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is watching interests of both the large and the small industries in the state. Citing an example, he said the state government, in its budget for the current financial year, has earmarked Rs.245 crore, compared to Rs.95 crore in the last fiscal, for providing incentives to industries.

Among others, JR Singal, Rajinder Jindal, Pankaj Sharma, Sanjiv Pahwa, Vipan Mittal, Rohit Pahwa, RD Sharma and Sunil Sachdeva were present.
