Delhi government’s big decision, appointments made in committees and academies during AAP’s tenure will be cancelled

The Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has taken a major action related to the appointments made by the previous AAP government. The government has decided that the appointments made by the previous government will be cancelled. The Delhi government has terminated the tenure of the nominated officers/members of constitutional, non-constitutional bodies, authorities, boards and committees. Many of the nominated members were former and sitting AAP MLAs.

These committees include Delhi State Haj Committee, Pilgrimage Development Committee, Urs Committee. These boards include Delhi Agriculture Marketing Board, Delhi Gram Viks Board, Delhi Animal Welfare Board, Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board and Delhi Jal Board. The academies include Hindi Academy, Urdu Academy, Sahitya Kala Parishad, Punjabi Academy, Sanskrit Academy, Sindhi Academy, Maithili Bhojpuri Academy and Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari Academy. Most of the appointments were of political nature and their cancellation will now pave the way for the restructuring of these institutions.
