In a momentous visit to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Headquarters, Ludhiana, Major General JS Cheema, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh Directorate was accorded a grand reception by Brigadier Paramjeet Singh Cheema, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal Group Commander NCC Group Ludhiana and other officials and cadets of the unit. The event was marked by the traditional Guard of Honour, showcasing the discipline and precision of the cadets.
The Guard of Honour, held in the presence of NCC officials, was a significant part of the visit. It symbolized the high respect and admiration the NCC fraternity holds for the ADG. Maj Gen JS Cheema was received with full military honors, reflecting the respect and reverence associated with his distinguished leadership and tenure.
During his visit, Maj Gen Cheema took the opportunity to felicitate several deserving NCC Cadet, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Physical Instructor (PI) staff Civil staff who made significant contributions to the NCC in their respective fields. The ADG commended the cadets for their dedication to training and service, which plays an essential role in moulding the future leaders of the nation. He presented awards and certificates to those who had shown exceptional commitment and achieved remarkable milestones in various NCC activities. Among the achievers are cadets Aabha of 3 Pb (G) Bn who received silver medal in Judging Distance and Field Signal Competition in Thal Sainik Camp, Cadet Rupal Verma, a budding shooting Champion who secured position in Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Competition.
He personally congratulated outstanding cadets for their exemplary performance and discipline. He also acknowledged the dedication of the Girl Cadet Instructor (GCI) and Civil Staff, who play an integral role in the smooth functioning of the NCC operations. Their hard work and dedication were recognized as a crucial aspect of the organization’s success. While interacting with the NCC Cadets Major General JS Cheema gave an insight to regarding upskilling and developing contemporary skills including Cyber security, Drones handling and preparations for cracking Competitive exams including Armed forces. The ADG motivated the cadet to work hard for strong foundation and become responsible citizens by contributing towards Nation building.
The event was a testament to the excellent work being done at the NCC Group Headquarters in Ludhiana and the continued commitment to national service. This visit by Maj Gen JS Cheema will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to the cadets and staff alike, strengthening the bond of dedication and service to the country.
