66 Sampark meetings by Khanna Police in single day to combat drug menace

Continuing its drive towards making Punjab drug-free by seeking community support, Sampark meetings were held in 66 villages falling under sub-division by Khanna Police.

Disclosing further, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Jyoti Yadav Bains said that a total of 66 interactive meetings with village defence committees, sarpanches, villagers and other key stakeholders, were conducted. The meetings were focussed on raising awareness about the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government’s mission, ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh’, and encouraging people to play a key role in eradicating the drug problem by sharing information about drug peddlers and addicts.

The SSP reiterated the Punjab Police’s commitment to wiping out drug networks and rehabilitating those affected by addiction in nearby centres. The villagers were motivated to work shoulder to shoulder with the police in the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking.

SSP also added that it was the moral duty of everyone to contribute generously in this drive to save the youth of state from the curse of drugs. She also said that such strenuous efforts could only lead to making Punjab a drug free, healthy and prosperous state.
