Famous actor Gene Hackman, wife Betsy Arakawa found dead at their New Mexico home

Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife were found dead in their New Mexico home on Wednesday, authorities said. Although no foul play is suspected at this time, authorities have not yet released any information about the circumstances of their deaths, saying the case is under investigation.

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dennis Avila said police responded to a search warrant at the home at 1:45 p.m. local time on Wednesday and found Hackman, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and the dog dead. Hackman, 95, was one of film’s most decorated actors. He appeared in dozens of films. He won Oscars for his roles in “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven.”
