GNDU bagged second runner-up trophy in Punjab State Inter-University Youth Fair 2024

Guru Nanak Dev University has brightened the name of the state by winning the second runner-up trophy in the Punjab State Inter-University Youth Fair 2024. The fair was organized by the Directorate of Youth Services, Government of Punjab at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.

Dr. Amandeep Singh, in-charge of Youth Welfare Department, said that a total of 17 universities of Punjab participated in the fair. While Punjab University, Chandigarh won the overall champion trophy, Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara bagged the first runner-up position. The GNDU contingent, comprising over 200 students and faculty from various colleges, showcased their talent in 45 different items. The university’s outstanding performance led to several accolades:

GNDU has won many titles in this festival; First Positions: Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Ghazal, Rangoli, Spot Painting, Embroidery Phulkari, Mime, Second Positions: Jhumar, Giddha, Bhand, Folk Song (Punjabi), Classical Vocal Solo, War Singing, Classical Instrumental (Non- Percussion), Ludi, Group Shabad, Pakhi Banana, Kavishari, Kali, Third Position: Collage Making, On-the-Spot Photography, Nook Drama, On-The-Spot Photography.

Prof. (Dr.) Palvinder Singh (Dean, Academic Affairs), Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Kahlon (Registrar), and other faculty members including Prof. (Dr.) Preet Mahinder Singh Bedi (Dean, Student Welfare). , gave a warm welcome to the runner-up trophy in the university and congratulated all the winners for their excellent performance. Accomplishments Principals and faculty of participating colleges also thanked the winners and participants.
